About New England Lacrosse Academy
New England Lacrosse Academy (NELA) was built with a simple goal in mind, develop players the right way. Since its inception, NELA has focused on creating an environment where athletes are challenged, engaged, and consistently improving through purposeful, high-repetition training.
At its core, NELA is not a “lines and lectures” clinic. It is a training experience designed to mirror the pace, pressure, and decision-making demands of real game play.
What Makes NELA Different
Most traditional clinic models rely heavily on stationary drills, long lines, and isolated skill work. While those methods have their place, they often fall short in preparing players for the speed and chaos of live competition.
NELA takes a different approach.
- High-Repetition Training: Players are constantly moving, constantly involved, and constantly getting touches. More reps mean faster development.
- Small-Area Gameplay: Sessions are built around tight-space, game-like scenarios that force players to think, react, and execute under pressure.
- Game Transfer Focus: Every drill and concept is designed with one question in mind, does this show up on game day?
- Pace and Competition: Practices are fast, competitive, and engaging, pushing players to operate at a higher level.
Development Beyond the Drill
NELA is about more than just stick skills. It’s about building confident, creative players who understand how to play the game, not just run drills. Players learn spacing, timing, decision-making, and how to compete, all while developing the habits and mindset needed to succeed at the next level.
By combining proven training methods with an intentional, game-based approach, New England Lacrosse Academy provides a developmental experience that stands apart from traditional clinic models and delivers results that translate directly onto the field.
