NELA is proud and excited to partner with Garber Gorillas Lacrosse to bring our athletes a fresh, innovative, and cutting-edge approach to teaching the game of lacrosse. Designed by Brett Garber (Former MLL Player, UMass Attackman, and Founder of Garber Gorillas)
TACTICAL TRAINING Tactical Training is designed to improve a player's overall lacrosse IQ while developing their positional skill work. Every session includes focused, high-level drills, that will challenge the individual to sharpen their decision-making ability and execute smarter decisions.
Dates:1/25, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 2/22, 3/1, 3/8
Time- 6-7pm
WHAT TO EXPECT:
OFFENSIVE SKILL WORK
Becoming a deceptive shooter and improving hand/release speed
Spacing and movement both on and off ball
Dodging the strong and weak side of the field
2 Man Game and Finding Solutions to succeed against various defensive play
Being a versatile passer/feeder and making quick decisions
DEFENSIVE SKILL WORK
Playing behind at X and controlling your opponent
Understanding approaches and angles on all sides of the field
Playing against picks with control and aggressiveness.
OFF Ball Defensive and Communication
ON Ball Defensive positioning and checking techniques
SMALL SIDED GAMES
Every session will include a small-sided game that allows players to compete and challenge themselves to execute prior training. Some games we will play include SIXES and GEORGIA DRILL
